BABCOCK'S STORE SONG

(written by Joan Babcock and sung to the tune of "I Like Stinky Cheese")

Listen to the tune.
VERSE 1

Welcome folks to Babcock's Store, we have got gifts galore
Soda fountain by the door, here at Babcock' Store.
Barbeque and ham and cheese, frito pie, if you please,
Ice cream, too, to tempt and tease, here at Babcock's Store.

CH. 1  We're so glad you stopped by if just to say "Hi" to all us here.
But to make our day real sunny just spend some money and buy a souvenir.
Rest stop, potty, it's all here at our touch of yesteryear.
Coffee, too, but there's no beer, here at Babcock's Store.

VERSE 2

Jams and jellies for your bread. Coonskin caps to fit your head.
Lots of guns that don't shoot lead, here at Babcock's Store.
We've got puzzles, cookbooks, too, arts and crafts handmade for you.
Tee Shirts, jewelry, it's a zoo, here at Babcock's Store.

CH. 2   We're so glad you stopped by if just to say "Hi" to all us here.
But to make our day real sunny, just spend some money and buy a souvenir.
Now you folks all come on back, bring your friends, bring Uncle Jack.
Get some junk and take a sack home from Babcock's Store.

(Here's the first verse as I reworked it after we made quit selling food.)
Welcome folks to Babcock's Store, we have got gifts galore,
Soda fountain by the door, here at Babcock's Store.

Malts and shakes, just take one home, super sundaes, ice cream cones
Old tyme sodas made by Joan here at Babcock's Store.

(Here's the first verse re-worked again the last year when we closed the soda fountain)

Welcome folks to Babcock's Store, we have got gifts galore
And Old Bill sits right by the door here at Babcock's Store.
There is ice cream in the box, candy sticks as hard as rocks,
And knives for all you hunting jocks, here at Babcock's Store.

We're so glad you stopped by if just to say "Hi" to all us here.
But to make our day real sunny just spend some money and buy a souvenir.
Rest stop, potty, it's all here at our touch of yesteryear.
Canned drinks, too but there's no beer, here at Babcock's Store.
