To Cable Customers: As you probably know, the digital transition ( at which time most U.S. broadcast television stations will discontinue offering an analog signal) is rapidly approaching. With all the promise that the digital transition hopes to bring to television viewers, the technology has limitations which affects the ability of some cable systems ( those that are not located sufficiently close to the station) to receive an adequate quality signal. Unfortunately, our recent tests have shown that the digital signal of certain stations we currently offer that are located in the Shreveport market, specifically stations KMSS(33),KPXJ(43),KSLA(76),KHBS(48), and KTBS(3), do not reach our cable system. Because these stations,in early 2009, will cease broadcasting the analog signal upon which we rely. Other stations affected are KDFW(34) and WPIX(61), due to contractual inabilities. We have no choice but to discontinue carriage of these stations once our current retransmission consent agreements expire at 11:59 PM on December 31,2008.
As to your other favorite broadcast stations that you have traditionally received, we continue to make excellent progress towards ensuring that they will continue to be available to our customers on a long-term basis with much improved quality. Below you will find a list of broadcast stations that we intend to offer after January 1: (you can find a complete list of channels here)
