IMBODEN Arkansas — An Oklahoma man died Friday night from injuries sustained in a truck-motorcycle accident in rural Lawrence County, a preliminary fatality report from the Arkansas State Police said. Dennis Monfort, 57, 2011 Route 1, Valliant, Okla., was traveling north on Arkansas 115 on a 1999 Yamaha motorcycle around 6:20 p.m. Friday when the accident occurred, according to a narrative by Trooper Jeremy M. Conner of the Arkansas State Police. Conner said a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 truck driven by Ronnie Lee Palmer, 44, 1668 Supply Road, Maynard, was traveling south on Arkansas 115. “[The motorcycle] was negotiating a right curve when it crossed the centerline and struck the right front of the truck,” Conner said. Monfort died at the scene, the trooper said. Palmer was not injured and was wearing a seat belt, the report said. The weather was clear and the road was dry before the accident occurred.

UPDATE -- Aug 14th -- 10:25 pm
There will be a workday at the land this weekend Aug 23rd
& 24th. A lot of help is needed
More work will be done on fence Structure. We still need people to pick up rocks and debris to make lawn mower friendly. Still need to move the KIB Booth to vendor area on grass. Restrooms also still need repair. Will be installing
new mirror and make-up shelves in ladies restroom. If you can not make it out for the Aug 24th workday, Check the
bulletin board for work projects and do what you can during the week. Help always needed in picking op rocks etc.
Forest Grove School donated a multi teeter-totter structure, and several jungle-gyms, and other items like a
huge chalk board. KIB members went at the spur of the moment to pick these items up, and deliver them to KIB.
There will be a lot of help needed to get these in the ground. Also need some welding done to repair some items, so
if you have the skills and the equipment, contact Gary Walker to see what needs to be done.

Workday Report from Gary Walker:
Had a good turn out Saturday, even if most waited until noon. Got a lot of the fence structure (which was all that was planned) installed. The dirt up on the hill was so dry and hard that John Smiths auger had problems, and finally could only go down 6-8 inches. Luckily for us Virgil showed up with an auger on the bob cat and was able to dig into the ground. Still had problems. Had about 90 ft to complete A smaller crew including Virgil and Tony show up Sunday morning to finish the job but has you know the rain never let up until well after 2 PM. GOOD JOB!
